Kate Buxton

Organisational Capability Specialist

Kate's skills in planning, organising and communications were key. She was very easy to work with, responding to our requests …and actively taking steps to keep the AEGN staff team on top of what we needed to do and by when.

Esther Abram,

With 25+ years in the for-purpose sector, Kate excels at strengthening the capacity and capabilities of organisations navigating ambitious visions and missions within limited resources.

Her extensive experience with community-based organisations has equipped her to support clients with complex, multifaceted needs. These include developing outcomes frameworks, conducting community needs assessments, and guiding strategic and operational planning. Kate sets the stage using a holistic, asset-based approach by asking, "What change do we want to see?" She then focuses on crafting pragmatic, effective solutions that consistently deliver tangible results. Kate took a lead role in developing the Foundation's annual Community Grants program. As a new grantmaking organisation, it was vital that the program responded to the identified needs of our community and was accessible and equitable for local community organisations. Kate was also instrumental in the development of a strategic grants stream. Kate has a great deal of experience working with community-based grantmaking organisations and understands the vital role they play in strengthening community and building local agency.
