Our work featured in DCJ documentary

During 2022, Benefolk (or The Xfactor Collective, as we were then) received funding from the NSW Department of Communities and Justice to support not-for-profits and community groups in the Northern Rivers region. Following the devastating floods, we knew that the 'accidental responders' would need support and so we offered a series of face to face training, providing insights on how to manage and avoid trauma, as well as access to free resources through The Community Well.

This video is an excerpt from a documentary prepared by DCJ and features an interview with Julia Keady about the program, as well as some community groups speaking about mental health and wellbeing challenges following the floods.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land and waters and their knowledge of the places where we gather to collaborate and strengthen communities. In our work, we recognise the importance of Country, not just as a place, but how it also maintains community, family, kin, lore and language. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.
