Our Story
The inspiration for Hit Send came from Mel’s time in small business when colleagues would regularly call out, “Mel, can you check this before we ‘hit send’?”
Mel established Hit Send editing and proofreading in 2014. A talented team of freelancers backs Mel up to ensure delivery on our fast-turnaround promise. Our editors all live in Australia.
Our editors favour straightforward but elegant, informative, readable English. Mel also delivers plain English writing workshops on behalf of the Tasmanian Government.
Hit Send will review any business documents. We are a preferred provider for several Tasmanian government departments. Our clients come from a wide variety of industries and include the Australian Government, the UN, the Government of South Australia, major corporates, charities and small businesses.
We edit and proofread reports every day, but we’re also happy to work on staff manuals, handbooks, training manuals, web copy, shareholder proposals, newsletters, magazines, or anything else you can dream up. One of our team has a government background and specialises in writing tenders.
Need us in a hurry? Hit Send offers fast-turnaround (3 hours) on short jobs up to 3,000 words.
We edit in Australian and British English. Indeed, we run an overnight editing service for our UK clients, editing while they sleep.
We are experienced at working with government or company style guides.
Mel brings to her editing a Master of Arts from Oxford and 15 years’ editing experience.
