Social impact sector involvement
Colour Chorus has been involved with the Social Impact & Environmental Sector since its beggining; it is the key area that we cater for and specialise in. More importantly however, Social Impact and Enviromental Conservation form our underlying ethos. Our work seeks to encourage the wider public to search for understanding beyond their immediate environment and apply a more considerate and mindful approach to their lives.
Colour Chorus has worked on projects and themes in areas of Social Justice, LGBTIQ, Feminism and Women's issues, Australian First Nations, Multicultural, Disability, Aged Care, Housing Affordability, Rural issues, Environment & Conservation, Green Technology, Science, Volunteering, Mental Health, Food Security and Education.
CREDIT HIGHLIGHTS
Disabled Wintersport Australia (DWA)- 5 film series sharing the stories of people living with a disability and how they came to get involved in wintersports through DWA.
Wilderness Society- The Emerald Link- 2 films promoting the joining of a group of National Parks and the formation of a new eco-tourism attraction in East Gippsland.
Justice Victoria- Wulgunggo Ngalu Learning Place- Ongoing series with 12+ films that tell the stories of young Indigenous Men and their transformational experiences in Wulgunggo Ngalu Learning Place correctional facility.
Museum Victoria- Black Day, Sun Rises, Blood Runs- 6 Films, permanent exhibition at Museum Victoria around Indigeous Massacre History in the state of Victoria.
Environment Victoria- Ongoing work addressing current environmental issues from sustainable energy to bushfire crisis.
Red Grid- Promotional Film for sustainable energy sytem.
Intrusion- Award Winning short film dealing with traumatic response around sexual abuse
Amaze Autism- A set of 3 national TV Commercials bringing public awareness to autism
Channel News Asia- A set of 3 international TV commercials for Singaporean News Station that adress themes of social injustice and environmental destruction.
Food Bowl- A TV series for ABC looking at food security in the developing world.
Allie- A short film looking at how a recovering heart attack victim's disabled daughter helped him in his recovery process.
Wild Animal Reunions- An epsiode for UK TV station ITV that looks at the relationship between an animal carer and a wombat she resuced many years earlier.
Coming Back Out Ball- 2nd camera for a film that tells the story of elderly people coming out for the first time. Was screened as closing night showcase film at MIFF in 2018.
Olympic Nick- Screened on ABC. A multicultural short film about a Greek migrant that become a local icon in Footscray after 40 years of running a Donut Van in front of the train station.
Hyundai Australia- Letters series- A series and TV commercial about four Australian women soccer players writing a letter to someone that has had a huge impact on their lives. The ads were screened in the leadup to the 2019 Womens Football World Cup.
Vollie- Promotional film for volunteer organisation 'Vollie'.
